Acute Cardiovascular Treatment (ACT) Program
Physicians: If you have a patient with an acute cardiovascular condition, we can help. Call the Arizona Heart Hospital's ACT Program at 1-800-228-2119, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We're here for you.
What is the ACT Program?
Physicians from across the state call Arizona Heart Hospital's Acute Cardiovascular Treatment (ACT) Program for immediate cardiovascular consultation. One call to ACT gives you immediate access to Arizona Heart Hospital's emergency medicine, cardiology and cardiovascular surgery specialists. We can even arrange transfers of acute cardiovascular patients.
When you call ACT, your patient will receive current and advanced interventions, treatments and therapies for acute cardiovascular emergencies, any time of the day or night.
ACT Services
If you have a patient experiencing a cardiovascular emergency, including myocardial infarction, rupturing aneurysm, limb ischemia, peripheral vascular disease, dysrhythmia, or has a need for electrophysiology intervention, ACT can help.
Doctors and specially trained ACT nurses are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for:
- immediate physician-to-physician consultation with Arizona Heart Hospital physicians who specialize in cardiovascular care.
- referral assistance for diagnosis, transfer and intervention.
- ground or air transport arrangements.
- expedited admitting procedures for rapid intervention.
The ACT staff is accessible to provide you with an update on your patients during their stay at Arizona Heart Hospital. Upon your patient's discharge, you will receive a copy of the physician's discharge summary and/or operative report faxed to your office.
Professional Education
In addition to providing the most comprehensive cardiovascular care available, Arizona Heart Hospital offers other services for medical professionals through ACT, including CME and related professional education programs. Our ACT staff is also available for site visits throughout Arizona to your office and area hospitals.
Each year, the ACT Program hosts ACT Nurses' Day, a full-day program of continuing education that provides the most up-to-date instruction on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. To read more about ACT Nurses' Day, click here.
